5 HireMaster clients among 18 carriers honored for low accident frequency ratios
Five trucking companies who trust HireMaster to find some of the safest drivers in the nation for their fleets are among 18 carries across North America recognized for their outstanding safety practices in the 45th annual Fleet Safety Awards by the Truckload Carriers Association.
Bay & Bay Transportation of Eagan, Minn., led the group with a first-place designation in Division IV (carriers with 25-49.99 million miles). Each of the three winning companies in six mileage-based divisions had the lowest accident frequency ratios per million miles annually.
The other HireMaster clients on the list of winners include CFI (third, Division VI); May Trucking (second, Division VI); Wilson Logistics (second, Division V); and Freymiller (third, Division V).
Last year, May was second in Division V, Wilson was third in Division V and CFI was second in Division VI.
This is the third year in a row CFI has been one of the top three safest fleets in its division.
With more than 475 million-milers in the fleet, CFI supports a safety culture through an open-door policy and communication channels that foster collaboration, safety updates and learning and the company regularly recognizes safe behaviors among its drivers.
“We are proud of our CFI family and their continued focus on safety as a priority during a challenging and distracting year,” CFI president Greg Orr said. “This award recognizes the daily commitment required to make this quality list of carriers.”
Two grand prize winners – less than 25 million miles and greater than 25 million miles – will be announced at the TCA Annual Convention April 17-20 in Las Vegas. All the winners will be recognized at the TCA’s 2021 Safety & Security Meeting June 6-8 in St. Louis.
“TCA is immensely proud of the work our members do each and every day to improve safety,” TCA president John Lyboldt said in a news release announcing the winners. “In this year of so many unique challenges, these Fleet Safety Award winners have found a way to not only keep their employees protected from COVID-19, but also go above and beyond to improve safety on our highways.”
