HireMaster client CFI is one of 18 trucking companies across North America recognized today for its outstanding safety practices in the 44thannual Fleet Safety Awards designated by the Truckload Carriers Association.
The Joplin, Mo.-based carrier was the second place winner in Division VI (carriers with 100 million or more miles). Each of the top three winning companies in six mileage-based divisions had the lowest accident frequency rations per million miles annually.
CFI was a third-place finisher in its division last year.
“These awards showcase the best of our industry and set these carries apart as truly maintaining the gold standard when it comes to protecting their drivers, their loads, their equipment and the greater motoring public,” TCA president John Lyboldt said in a news release announcing the winners.
The division winners are now eligible for one of two grand prizes – one for carriers with less than 25 million total annual mileage and the other for carriers with greater than 25 million miles.
The grand prize winners will be announced at the TCA’s 2020 annual convention March 1-3 in Kissimmee, Fla.
CFI’s dry-van truckload fleet has been a staple of shippers for nearly 70 years. From a start with two trucks in 1951, the carrier has grown to nearly 3,000 with 10 locations across the North America.
The company has truckload service locations in Joplin, Mo.; Taylor, Mich.; W. Memphis, Tenn.; Laredo, Texas; and Dallas. It has additional drop yards in Jacksonville, Fla.; Lawrenceville, Ga.; Pocahontas, La.; St. Joseph, Mo.; and Kansas City.
