Charles Blankenship has a sharp eye for driving talent and now he has a sharp new truck to show for it.
Blankenship, a FirstFleet driver from Circleville, Ohio, recently was handed a set of keys to a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck as the winner of the carrier’s second recruiting promotion of the year.
From March 18 to July 8, 2002, FirstFleet encouraged all company employees to refer new professional truck drivers for hire. For each driver referred and hired, the referring employee received a cash bonus and one entry into the truck giveaway drawing when the new hire reached 90 days on the job. Overall, 70 FirstFleet employees participated in the promotion.
Blankenship was accompanied at the awards ceremony by his wife Sharon and daughter Charlotte.
“We congratulate Charles on his good fortune,’’ FirstFleet recruiting manager Ken Scrimale said. “One of the reasons we have these promotions is to reward our current drivers and employees to sharing their positive experiences at FirstFleet with others. Our people are a top priority so being able to reward them is important to us.
“Secondly, we want to spread the word that FirstFleet is hiring and that we’re a great career home for professional drivers who are interested in a family environment where they can enjoy steady support, low-cost health insurance, and a variety of driving and home time options.”
FirstFleet is a dedicated transportation company located in Murfreesboro, Tenn. it operates more than 2,900 company-owned power units and 10,000 company-owned trailers with more than 140 operations across the United States.
