Pride Transport has given its drivers a significant boost in pay just in time to enjoy the holiday season.
Effective Dec. 1 driver pay at the family-owned and operated Utah-based carrier increased 4 cents per mile with an additional 4 cents per mile for two years as part of its $10,000 sign-on bonus payout.
?“This is an exciting announcement,” Pride Transport’s recruiting director Steve Schelin said. “What does that mean for a driver coming to Pride Transport? Our base pay rate is 45 to 47.5 cents per mile and then we add so many extras.”
?The $10,000 sign-on bonus is paid out in $100 weekly increments over two years. The company also has a 401(k) program that matches contributions by a whopping 20 percent. It offers driver pay for layover, breakdown and stops, plus guaranteed detention as well. Drivers also enjoy paid holiday and vacation time, affordable healthcare plans and paid orientation.
Pride Transport has 100 percent no-touch refrigerated freight, state-of-the-art equipment, and pet and rider programs. In 2019 it celebrated 50 years of operation.

The event was part of Averitt’s Team Up Community Challenge, which encourages associates to “team up” to give back to local communities.
“What a great job by all of our team in Dallas,” Dave Millea, the Dallas service center director, said. “Everyone had a great time being a part of this event, and I could not be more proud to be a part of this team.”
